In an overwhelming speech by former President Clinton, in which he received an amazing standing ovation having to make people sit down, there were several lines I especially enjoyed:

“I love this.”

“We have important work to do tonight. I am here first to support Barack Obama, and second I’m here to warm up the crowd for Joe Biden.”

“I love Joe Biden, and America will too.”

“I am not grateful to speak in the wake of Hillary’s magnificent speech … but I’ll do the best I can.”

“Hillary said she would do whatever she can to elect Barack Obama. That makes two of us. … Actually that makes 18 million of us.”

“Like Hillary, I want all of you who supported her to vote for Barack Obama”

“I have the advantage of speaking from a perspective no Democratic American other than Jimmy Carter can. … The job of the next president is to rebuild the American dream and restore American leadership in the world. … My experience has shown me that … Barack Obama is the man for THIS job.”

“In his first presidential decision … he hit it out of the park.”

“My fellow Democrats, I say to you, Barack Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world”

“Barack Obama is ready to be President of the United States.”

“People all over the world have always been more impressed by the power of our example rather than the example of our power.”

“Yes he can, but first we have to elect him”

“But if, like me, you believe America must always be a place called hope …”
